Photographing Carlsbad’s Flower Fields

We recently made the short drive up to San Diego’s North County to visit Carlsbad and create some photographs of the Flower Fields. We stopped at 83 Degrees for a quick lunch and pint. The bartenders were very friendly and the Barbeque Tri Tip sandwich is very tasty. After lunch we headed to The Flower Fields. The Flower fields are in total about 50 acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers tucked in behind the Carlsbad Outlets. Its a beautiful sight to see the array of flowers them from the freeway, and even more impressive up close. While initially I was interested in capturing the beauty of the flowers, my lens found its self attracted to the people and equipment of the Flower Fields as well. The season there ends in four days, so make your way there soon or you’ll have to wait until 2014.
